Seminar on the problems of access and quality assurance of statistical data required for national reporting on climate change

Within the framework of the UNDP/GEF program "Building the national transparency framework of Armenia in accordance with the Paris Agreement", carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, a seminar was held on the topic "Problems of ensuring the availability and quality of statistical data necessary for national reporting on climate change". The purpose of the seminar was to discuss with stakeholders and the expert community the indicators necessary for Armenia's accountability under the Framework Convention on Climate Change, to compile a list of indicators that need improvement, and to outline a range of further work in this direction. Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan delivered the opening speech at the seminar. 
Welcoming the participants, the Deputy Minister stressed the need to collect complete information for climate change statistics and an inventory of information sources, since the Ministry of Environment, as the national authorized body of the Framework Convention on Climate Change, has obligations to transparently and continuously transmit information to the Convention secretariat on financial support, sources and sinks of greenhouse gas emissions, mitigation measures and adaptations. 
The seminar was attended by representatives of state and non-state structures playing an active role in climate change initiatives - relevant ministries, other state structures, civil society organizations, educational centers, international organizations and experts in this field: During the seminar, they were presented in accordance with the Paris Agreement of the Republic of Armenia for 2021-2030. actions established at the national level.
