Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan took part in a seminar on the "Climate budgeting" agenda

Deputy Environment Minister Gayane Gabrielyan took part in a seminar on the climate budgeting agenda at the UN Armenian Office.
The purpose of the seminar, organized within the framework of UNDP, was to present the actions carried out in the framework of climate change financing, to present the French experience of "green budgeting", to develop and implement an appropriate strategy as a result of comprehensive discussions, which follows from the provisions of the Paris Agreement.
The event was attended by Nona Budoyan, Head of the Climate Policy Department of the Ministry, Konstantin Sokulsky, Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP, Diana Harutyunyan, Coordinator of UNDP climate change programs, and other representatives of the Ministries of Economy of Armenia, France, and interested parties.
Welcoming the participants, Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan stressed the importance of holding an event with a similar agenda and format and stressed the financial component of the climate, especially on the eve of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change-COP27.
The Deputy Minister thanked the organizers for uniting all interested parties around the common agenda of green financing and expressed the hope that as a result of the discussions, challenges and important problems of the sphere will be identified, actions carried out and developed methodologies will be discussed.
In his speech, Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP Konstantin Sokulsky noted the readiness of UNDP to assist ministries and partners in the process of forming and implementing the "green budgeting" strategy, as well as the readiness of the Asian Development Bank and Expertise Finance in the framework of financial management reforms.
During the event, information was provided on activities/investments (NDC) at the national level, public-private partnership and other case studies supporting climate policy in previous years.
The experience of "green budgeting" in France was presented at the event (50 countries of the world have already switched to "green budgeting") - from the history of implementation, application features, from the parties involved to the results and monitoring.
