The representatives of the environmental community have recently warned of the essential to define supervision over the area of the pond in the administrative territory of Shirakavan rural community of Ani enlarged community, Shirak region. Environmental activists warn that shots are regularly fired in the area, and the pond is a feeding place for various birds.
Following the warning, the officers of "Lake Arpi" National Park SNCO of the Ministry of Environment visited the mentioned area, met with the Aadministrative Head of Shirakavan and personally got acquainted with the situation.
An agreement has been reached with the municipality of Shirakavan to define supervision in an effort to reduce the harmful effects of tourist visits in the area, to streamline pollution and waste disposal issues, excluding  illegalities.
An agreement has been reached to hold a cleanup day and cleaning activities of the area nearby  the lake on April 3. The workers of “Lake Arpi” national park, students, residents of Shirakavan and community representatives will take part in the clean-up day. On the initiative of “Lake Arpi” national park,  machinery  belonging to the rural community will also be used.
From now on, the representatives of "Lake Arpi" NP will conduct regular visits to the mentioned area.
