Reference: Work has started on cleaning the coastal and submerged forest layer of Lake Sevan

Work has started to clean up the coastal and flooded forest layer of Lake Sevan:
At the Vardenik site of the Martuni branch of the Sevan National Park, the coastal forest layer is cleared of trees, shrubs and other plant combinations with the help of special equipment and handwork.
The territory to be cleaned is a coastal zone that has fallen to the level of 1901.5 m, part of which has already passed under water, and part has turned into a swamp.
Extraction of the remains of trees and shrubs from coastal wetlands is aimed at eliminating the causes of the formation of blue-green algae in the waters of Sevan.
