The final meeting of the program "Protection of the ozone layer" of the Ministry of Environment took place

The final meeting of the program "Protection of the ozone layer" of the Ministry of Environment took place.
The event was attended by representatives of the "Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center" SNCO SNCO of the Ministry of Environment, the Department of International Cooperation, Waste and Emissions Management, the Committee on Urban Planning, the National Metrology Body of the Ministry of Economy, the Armenian Association SOGI and the " Ozone Layer Protection Program”.
The meeting on December 15 began with a speech by the National Coordinator for the Protection of the Ozone Layer Liana Kagramanyan, who presented an overview of activities for 2022, in particular, spoke about legislative initiatives, quotas, licenses and customs control, processes in the field of refrigeration and air conditioning, awareness-raising measures, cooperation with the Committee on Urban Planning and Waste Management., around which the discussion unfolded.
The first day ended with the development of proposals in thematic working groups.
On the second day of the meeting, on December 16, Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan, Coordinator of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Program Yuri Sorokin and UN Representative in Armenia Anahit Simonyan took part in the event.
The Deputy Minister and international partners expressed gratitude to the "Protection of the Ozone Layer" program, thanks to which Armenia ensures the fulfillment of the obligations assumed under the Vienna Convention and the Montreal Protocol, while congratulating the participants on the 35th anniversary of the Montreal Protocol.
Gayane Gabrielyan stressed the importance of strengthening the country's institutional capabilities and strengthening the system, continuing the phased replacement of ozone-depleting substances and fluorinated gases, during which it is necessary to ensure synergy between public and private spheres.
The two-day meeting ended with the voicing of the proposals of the thematic working groups and the identification of priorities.
