Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan was in Aragatsotn region, where the tree planting of 2021 "10 million trees" pan-Armenian initiative was officially launched.
Minister Romanos Petrosyan, Acting Chairman of the Committee of  Forest of the Ministry of Environment Artur Petrosyan, Acting Director of "ArmForest" SNCO Pavel Tsugunyan, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Armenian National Agrarian University Karen Minasyan, Dean of Faculty of Agronomy Armenak Ter-Grigoryan, Acting Head of the Chair of Forestry and Agroecology Hasmik Khurshudyan and university students were hosted at ATP's Karin Nursery in Aragatsotn Region, which is the  first nursery  of the foundation, founded in 1994. Aragatsotn Region Governor Davit Gevorgyan, was, too present.
In his opening remarks, Minister Petrosyan declared the launch of tree planting of  2021 "10 million trees" initiative, referred to the thankful deed of planting trees and reforestation: "The day is  symbolized as renaissance. Planting a tree itself is both the thankful deed, and symbolizes  revival for  our people, state and statehood as well as for the Artsakh Republic  in this post-war reconstruction period. The Ministry of Environment with the full-fledged involvement of its capacities in collaboration with government state agencies, with the support of regional administrations, all communities and educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia intends to plant 10 million trees in Armenia and Artsakh''.
The Minister presented the schedule of tree planting envisaged  by the Ministry, spoke about the nationwide tree planting expected on April 25, the day after the  Armenian Genocide Victims Remembrance Day , during which 100.000 trees will be planted.
All this is directed to creating the preconditions for ensuring the sustainable development of the environment under better, green, clear-cut and responsible management, and for fulfilment of  efficient management.
The Minister referred to the cooperation stipulated in the memorandum signed by the Ministry of Environment and Armenian National Agrarian University , reaffirming that there is a need for young, ambitious, progressive and innovative young specialists, those breaking stereotypes in the productive  preservation, management and development of forests.
 “The 10 million trees initiative is the best opportunity for a memorandum of cooperation signed between our two agencies and for mutual cooperation, goodwill and friendship: '' stated the Minister, expressing hope that the university's faculty would ensure even greater involvement of young people in the process: '' Tree planting, and caring is the most thankful deed. Each person who plants a tree and takes care of a component of the environment is fairly  a good citizen for the state."

After the end of the first part of the event, the Minister of Environment and Aragatsotn Region Governor supervised a symbolic tree planting in the area of the nursery, afterwards  they toured the area with students accompanied by nursery specialists, getting acquainted with the existing capacities and large-scale programs.
The first 1000 trees announcing the launch of 2021 "10 million trees" initiative were planted in the area of Kuchak village of "Aragatsotn Forestry" branch of "ArmForest" SNCO. The tree planting was effected  with the active backing of the staff of "ArmForest", who introduced the students to the whole process of tree planting, shared their experience, helped to plant trees, becoming a part of similar  important pan-Armenian revival initiative.
