The Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan was in Sevan National Park to monitor the implementation of the program of strict control measures in the whole territory of Armenia due to the period of whitefish spawning in Lake Sevan.
The Minister Simidyan and Governor of Gegharkunik Karen Sargsyan held a short consultation with the representatives of the departments in charge of the control measures of Sevan National Park.
The Minister once again stressed the importance of coordinated and interconnected implementation of all points of the program.
"We are happy to state that our citizens are sympathetic to the ban and control measures, this is also due to the fact that the government has met halfway this year and extended the fishing season," the minister said.
