The Minister of Environment Hakob Simonyan received Lilit Martirosyan, Deputy Director of the May Forest Armenia Organization, and Vahe Martirosyan, Chief Operating Officer.
Deputy Minister for Coordination of the Forest Sector Aram Meimaryan also took part in the meeting.
Issues related to the inventory in the forest sector of Armenia, the possibility of combining the efforts of the public and private sectors in the direction of improving the existing situation and restoring forest areas were discussed.
The mission of the "May Forest Armenia" organization is to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere, steadily increase forest cover and ensure biodiversity by planting endemic local tree species. She has already managed to do a significant job in the field of protection and afforestation of forests in Armenia.
"Forest restoration-large-scale planting of trees and ensuring their conservation - is among the priorities of our government, and the initiative "10 million trees" is a clear proof of this. All those organizations that share our vision of restoring and doubling forest areas have our support in every issue," the minister said.
Minister Hakob Simidyan, on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and on his own behalf, expressed readiness to colleagues from the organization "May Forest Armenia" to do everything possible for the most effective implementation of forest planting.
