Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan met with the delegation headed by Frank Merschl, Senior Manager of the Energy and Natural Resources Portfolio of the Bank for Reconstruction Loans (KfW), and Zara Chatinyan, representative of KFW Bank in Armenia

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan and Secretary General of the Ministry Grigor Ghoulyan.
During the meeting, the grant program "Protected Areas Assistance Program-Armenia", implemented with the financial support of KfW, was discussed, which is aimed at strengthening the capabilities and improving the management of 7 specially protected natural territories of the Syunik region, as well as improving the socio-economic situation of 32 communities in the buffer zone of the aforementioned SPNA.
The program "Biodiversity and sustainable local development in Armenia" was also touched upon, the total budget of which is about 26 million euros, provided by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) through KfW.
Before moving on to the issues on the agenda of the meeting, Minister Hakob Simidyan greeted his colleagues and informed that the above two programs will now be coordinated by Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan.
In his speech, the Minister noted that the entire process of implementing these two extremely important programs for the Republic of Armenia will be in the center of her direct attention, and that she will be consistent so that the course of the program is put on an institutional basis and comprehensive and final solutions are given to emerging problems.
The Minister also noted that it will be very consistent to meet the deadlines for the implementation of various stages of the programs.
Deputy Minister Aram Meimaryan and Secretary General of the Ministry Grigor Ghoulyan discussed in more detail with representatives of the delegation working issues related to the programs.
The parties reaffirmed their readiness to contribute to the smooth and effective progress of the programs.
