Minister of the Environment Hakob Simidyan followed the demonstration tactical exercise on the topic "The implementation of works to extinguish large fires in forest areas", held on the territory of the Khosrov State Reserve

Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan, Head of the Vedi community Garik Sargsyan, Armen Gasparyan, Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meymaryan, Chairman of the Forestry Committee Vladimir Kirakosyan, The acting Director of the SNCO "Khosrov Forest " Radik Ogikyan and the heads and representatives of other departments followed the demonstration special tactical exercise on the theme " carrying out work to extinguish large forest fires" conducted by the Ministry of Emergency Situations on the territory of the " Khosrov Forest" State Nature Reserve.
Especially during this period of danger of forest fires, Minister Hakob Simidyan stressed the role of such exercises in improving the skills of rescue and firefighting crews, as well as in coordinating and harmonizing the interaction of interdepartmental work.
"In addition to improving skills, it is also a great opportunity to check the readiness of the responding forces during rescue and fire-fighting operations," the minister said.
According to the scenario, an employee of the Fund for the Protection of Wildlife and Cultural Values (FPWC) noticed through a camera that a fire broke out in one of the storages of the Khachadzor site in the reserve. The Ministry of Emergency Situations came to the rescue.
The exercise was attended by employees of the "Khosrov Forest" State Nature Reserve of the Ministry of Environment, the rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations -fire and rescue squads of Vedi, Masis, Artashat of the Ararat Regional Rescue Department, fire and rescue squads of Urtsadzor and Vedi, Abovyan and Hrazdan fire and rescue squads of Kotayk management, fire and rescue squads of Garni, SS Department of Medical Support and Psychological Support, Special Purpose Rescue Operations Center, as well as Russian-Armenian, Fund for the Protection of Wildlife and Cultural Values.
26 units of special equipment, 106 rescuers, 71 volunteers, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and one helicopter of the Ministry of Defense aviation were involved in the work.
