It is proposed to ban the use of wild animals in circuses

On November 12, at a meeting of the NA Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Deputy Minister of Environment Gayane Gabrielyan presented for discussion in the first reading a package of projects on amendments and additions to the RA Law "On Wildlife.
The reduction or, even more the disappearance of each species of wild animals causes serious damage to the protective function of the biosphere, disrupts the nutrient connections and interactions of the ecosystem. The Government proposes to legislatively prohibit the use of wild animals in circuses included in the list approved by the authorized body.
With the additions provided for in the Code of Administrative Offences, liability will be applied, and the proposed amendments to the Tax Code will fix the basis for charging fees for nature management for certain types of use of wildlife. For amateur purposes, people of retirement age will be given the privilege of fishing for free.
According to the additions of the RA law "On State Fee" a state fee will be established for permits of exporting and importing of wild animals, animal collections and individual specimens. A state fee will also be imposed for keeping wild animals in captivity, including animals registered in the RA Red Book.
The package of projects was approved by the deputies.
