The 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on the Timber Industry and Forestry of the CIS countries was held in Yerevan.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegations of the intergovernmental Council, a representative of the CIS Executive Committee, the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the CIS forest system, as well as representatives of the management staff and various departments of the Ministry of Environment, the Forestry Committee and SNCO "Armles".
The heads of the delegations of the CIS member states, the representative of the CIS Executive Committee and the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the CIS forest system made a welcoming speech.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed.
Within the framework of cooperation of the CIS member States at the first stage (2016-2020)) the results of the activities carried out (the planned activities have been implemented by 95%), as well as the second stage (2022-2025).) action plan,
Issues related to the development of forestry in the CIS, prevention and extinguishing of forest fires, implementation of measures to combat forest pests and diseases, prevention of illegal timber trafficking, retraining of employees of the forest system, etc. were also discussed.,
At the end of the 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on the Timber Industry and Forestry of the CIS countries, Chairman of the Council Vladimir Kirakosyan signed the decisions adopted by the Council during the meeting. It was decided to hold the 22nd meeting of the Intergovernmental Council on the Timber Industry and Forestry of the CIS countries under the chairmanship of the representative of the same republic in the Republic of Belarus.
It should also be noted that the delegation that arrived in Yerevan to participate in the 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Timber Industry and Forestry, visited the greenhouse complex operating in the branch of the "Hrazdan Forestry" of the SNCO "Armles" of the Forestry Committee of the Ministry of Environment, where planting material with a closed root system is grown.
Members of the delegation in forestry also witnessed the work on the construction of a new greenhouse complex, and then presented their experience of performing such work.
