Today, Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan met with representatives of the charity foundation "Armenia Tree Project" headed by the Executive Director of the organization Jinmari Papelyan.
During the meeting, the programs implemented by the Foundation, the results recorded were presented, the mission of the foundation was emphasized - to help people and, above all, families in need, contributing to increasing their self-sufficiency and at the same time preserving natural ecosystems:
Stressing the importance of implementing programs aimed at ensuring the employment of families, as well as the compatibility of their social and environmental components, the ministers expressed their readiness to cooperate within the framework of the already implemented program of household nurseries. This is an event that gives beneficiary families the opportunity to provide seeds, necessary materials, skills, thanks to which the latter can plant and grow trees, later selling them to the foundation itself.
Minister Hakob Simidyan welcomed the possibility of joint implementation of the program, noting that representatives of the Ministry of Environment will participate in the selection of territories, cartography and other works.
The Minister once again stressed the importance of the fact that the implemented programs should make it possible to balance environmental and socio-economic components, since this is the only way to achieve a vision of sustainable management and dynamic development of specially protected natural areas.
Within the framework of this program to provide families with additional income, Minister Narek Mkrtchyan also proposed to consider compatibility with the "seasonal employment program" already implemented by the Ministry, which more than 1,170 people took advantage of in 2022 alone.
