A discussion was held at the Ministry of Environment headed by Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan

The Ministry of Environment, headed by Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan, held a discussion with colleagues from interested departments, organized to discuss the draft Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Armenia" On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise".
The discussion was attended by Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Hovhannes Harutunyan, Deputy Minister of Justice Armenui Harutyunyan, First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Artyush Grigoryan, Director of the SNCO "Environmental Impact Assessment Center" of the MoE, heads and experts of professional departments of the ministries.
Greeting his colleagues at the Ministry of Environment, Deputy Minister Gayane Gabrielyan asked to identify the omissions in the draft law as a result of a meaningful and relaxed discussion with a view to their further revision.
"Working on every particle of this draft law, we must first of all remember that the environmental impact assessment proceeds from the human right to have a favorable environment for health, normal life and creativity, the requirements for the effective, integrated and rational use of natural resources and the need to balance ecological systems and the conservation of all plant and animal species, existing in nature, taking into account the interests of current and future generations",- The Deputy Minister noted, recalling the purpose and basic principles of environmental impact assessment.
We would also like to inform you that in order to discuss the draft Law of the Republic of Armenia "On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Armenia" On Environmental Impact Assessment and Expertise", the Ministry of the Environment will organize another public hearing in the near future.
