Deputy Minister of Environment Anna Mazmanyan and Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Sergey Anoprienko signed a program of cooperation in the field of environmental protection

Yesterday, the 20th sitting of the Armenian-Russian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was held in Yerevan under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan and the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk.
Issues related to the development of trade and economic relations, cooperation in transport, energy, environment, high technologies, healthcare, education and other areas of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
Within the framework of the sitting, the 2022-2027 interregional cooperation program between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation, the program of cooperation in the field of environmental protection for 2022-2023, the action plan for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia for 2022-2023 were signed. 
 The program envisages:
• Development of legislative-normative-legal basis in the field of environment protection,
• Training of specialists on the organization of ecological control, implementation of the legislation and environmental awareness,
• Biodiversity protection, development of a system of specially protected areas and forest restoration improvement of the forest management system.
 As a result of the implementation of the project, it is expected:
• Developing an improved normative-methodological database for inventory of emissions of air pollutants from mobile and stationary sources,
• Improving the qualification of specialists,
• Development of proposals for the improvement of the normative-legal basis,
• Improving the normative-legal basis,
• Strengthening interdepartmental cooperation Improving the qualification of specialists,
• Improving the legislation of the countries in the field of protection and design of SPA,
• Restoration and conservation of Caucasian deer population
• Restoration and conservation of the South Asian leopard in Armenia (Panthera pardus (Linnaeus, 1758), P. p. Ciscaucasica subspecies),
• Breeding of bezoar goat mother staff in "North Ossetia" state experimental hunting farm for breeding, their reproduction and restoration,
• Restoration and protection of rare and endangered species of animals
• Development of a roadmap for necessary measures to restore the ecosystem of Lake Sevan
• Implementation of management measures (by agreement of the Parties),
• Stabilization of the population of rare, endangered migratory birds
• Improving the wildlife control system, as well as improving the decision-making system on confiscated specimens.
