Let's remind that in order to regulate the problems related to the depletion of underground water resources of the Ararat Artesian basin and the implementation of closed circulation systems in fish farming farms, the draft law "On Amendments to the Water Code of the Republic of Armenia" defined a new concept of "closed circulation system using underground fresh water through a borehole". , and the draft of the law "On making additions and amendments to the Water Code of the Republic of Armenia" provides a legal basis for defining the procedure for implementing a closed circulation system in fish farms using groundwater through a well.
The representatives of the fish farms present at the discussion raised their concerns regarding the draft law.
The minister presented the current state of underground water resources of the Ararat artesian basin, the results of monitoring studies and expressed hope that the businessmen realize that the implemented changes are in the interests of every citizen of the Republic of Armenia, that is, to save water resources.
An agreement was reached to continue the meetings within the framework of the already formed working group. The minister and the protesting businessmen agreed to discuss together and find joint solutions regarding the possibilities of implementing closed circulation systems in fish farming farms.
