Within the framework of the twinning project "Strengthened conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia in accordance with European standards", "Khosrov Forest" State Reserve" capacity building trainings and field demonstrations on biodiversity monitoring were organized for the staff of the "Khosrov Forest" State Reserve by the experts of the Center for Environmental Protection of Finland (SYKE).
Deputy Minister of Environment Aram Meimaryan attended the trainings together with the heads of the professional units of the Ministry.
The deputy minister referred to the importance of similar trainings and exchange of experience, stressing the importance of monitoring in specially protected areas of nature, as a result of which real prerequisites are created in making further decisions.
Let's remind that the goals of the twinning program "Strengthened protection and sustainable use of biodiversity in Armenia in accordance with European standards" are:
- to assist in the development of new legislation on nature and biodiversity protection,
- to support institutional development and management in the field of nature and biodiversity protection,
- to raise awareness of the proposed legislative and institutional changes aimed at strengthening biodiversity and nature conservation,
- to establish continuous work-professional ties between cooperating countries.
