Any action contributing to the extinction of the Red Book-listed species is subject to an administrative fine

Dear compatriots, the Ministry of Environment receives numerous alarms that water lilies listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia are being sold in the streets of Yerevan, as well as photos taken by hikers and tourists appear on the Internet, where it is observed how ecological systems are violated.
Water lily is one of the most beautiful plants in the Armenian highlands, which is registered in the RA Red Book.
We call for citizens, hikers, domestic tourism guides to assume the utmost care and to take responsibility for this incomparable beauty of nature, moreover, it is registered in the RA Red Book, thus it is also streamlined by the RA legislation.
Reminder!
In accordance with Article 93 of the RA Code on “Administrative Violations”, self-collection of the RA Red Book-listed plants, or the roots, flowers and fruits of such plants, shall result in imposition of a fine on citizens in the amount of eighty times the minimum wage (AMD 80.000), and to officials in the amount of one hundred and fifty times (150.000 AMD).
