The Acting Minister first toured "Khor Virap" sanctuary with our partners of Caucasus Nature Fund (CNF). They got acquainted with the ecosystem of the wetland area of international importance, the peculiarities of the conservation regime of flora and fauna, especially waterfowls and their habitats, rare plant species and their habitats. We can say for sure that wonderful conditions have been created for the normal development and reproduction of birds.
As the sanctuary is located on the left side of Khor Virap church complex, Araks River, on the right side of the ancient capital of Armenia, Artashat, it also has favorable conditions for the development of ecotourism. The Acting Minister has reached a preliminary agreement with his colleagues to develop and implement an eco-tourism project in the area, preserving the integrity of the natural environment.
Acting Minister visited "Goravan Sands" state reserve. The sanctuary is the first in Armenia in the number of rare and endangered vascular plant species.
In the administrative building of "Khosrov Forest" State Reserve SNCO, Vedi, the Acting Minister held a consultation with the top management of the SNCO, the heads of subdivisions, and the heads of the districts of the reserve.
The process of launching newly developed eco-tourism routes was discussed. It was instructed to take a more responsible approach to the management of tourism flows. The priority is to reduce the impact of the human factor on natural ecosystems.
The issue of cadastral amendments  of the areas under the reserve was touched upon.
Issues related to the availability of firefighting materials and appropriate means of communication were discussed.
Acting Minister handed certificates of appreciation to the employees of the SNCO who actively participated in the firefighting operations that broke out in the territory of “Khosrov Forest” state reserve weeks ago.
The last stop of the visit was the visitor information center of Khosrov district of "Khosrov Forest" state reserve. Here isn’t any problem with the availability of "firefighting materials" and appropriate means of communication.
Acting Minister Romanos Petrosyan once again assured his colleagues that the mandate entrusted to the sectorial administration should be fully implemented, and that all outlined projects before the war should be supervised. In this crucial phase of reform for our country, we ought to record concrete and tangible results every day.
