The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia, together with the United Nations Development Program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Council for Women's Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, organizes a competition event called "Climate Change and Women in Armenia", which aims to recognize the contribution and leadership of women in actions and decisions aimed at mitigating and adapting climate change.
The event will create an important platform for the dissemination of best practices, stimulate the cooperation of stakeholders, drawing attention to the uneven impact of climate change on women and men.
Within the framework of the event, it is planned to award prizes in the following categories:

•    Climate change mitigation solutions,
•    Climate change adaptation measures,
•    Coverage of climate problems,
•    Climate education for all,
•    Climate finance and Innovation solutions,
•    Youth in climate action.
Applications for the competition of solutions in the field of climate change under the leadership of women are accepted by self-nomination or nomination.
State and non-governmental organizations, public and international structures, including educational institutions, business companies, can nominate, and women working or carrying out activities in various fields can self-nominate.
An organization or structure may nominate more than one program and candidates. Actions aimed at solving crossover problems can be put forward in a maximum of two nominations. Only one candidate can be submitted for each nomination.
In case of self-nomination, it is necessary to submit at least one recommendation-a letter. The submitted solutions should be implemented within the last five years.
All solutions or programs that meet the selection criteria will be published in an electronic brochure.

It is recommended to fill out an application if the work/solution performed was aimed at mitigation and/or adaptation to climate change, and the results had a real, long-term, exemplary impact, the example spread to other communities or countries.
