Environmentally safe withdrawing of chemicals at Nairit Plant CJSC was considered at the RA Ministry of Nature Protection

The workshop was invited at the RA Ministry of Nature Protection headed by First Deputy Minister Erik Grigoryan within the framework of RA Prime Minister's instruction progress. The opportunities of diluting some chemicals and discharging into the sewer within the area of “Nairit Plant'' CJSC were discussed.     Heads of the corresponding subdivisions of the RA Ministries of Nature Protection, Emergency Situation, Health, Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Territorial Administration and Development, experts of scientific and specialized institutions were actively engaged.    The issue over safely removal of used chemicals as well as substances received due to it in a plant supply chain was identified; the vast majority of which will be sold to other companies or will undergo environmentally sound combustion in relevant furnaces.      8 chemical materials are subject to diluting and discharging into the sewer. Some of them have also market demand. In the wake of a diffused discussion apropos of other chemicals, there was suggested to get salt from several existing salt waters at the plant, thereby offering the communities in order to realize road salting in winter. The experts found taking away of three water salts containing organic compounds difficult.      First Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan proposed to submit the above mentioned salt water samples to Chair of Chemical Technologies of Chemical Technologies and Environmental Engineering Faculty of National Polytechnic University of Armenia to verify chemical composition, execute environmentally sound dilution and come up with proposals on necessary water volume. The participants of the workshop decided on organizing the next meeting over the issue on chemical disposal fulfilment by diluting in the event of achieving lab results and precise propositions to solutions.
