The achievements of the newly established organization


A working consultation was held today in “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO of the Ministry of Environment, chaired by Acting Minister of Environment Vahe Jilavyan. 
Taking into consideration the wide range of powers of the newly established organization and the scope of work, Acting Minister Vahe Jilavyan discussed the current challenges, a number of issues related to increasing work efficiency, the structure of the newly established organization and the issues concerning other features with the participants.
Acting Director of “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO Levon Azizyan submitted the necessity and significance of introducing the hydrobiological monitoring to Vahe Jilavyan. Also, Azizyan stated that in the near future 23 automated meteorological stations will be introduced in 6 regions of the Republic: Aragatsotn, Armavir, Shirak, Vayots Dzor, Lori and Ararat, which will enable collecting incomparably more clear-cut information, including on weather forecasts. It is envisaged  to further install 6 hydrological observation points.
Among other issues, the issues regarding modernization and upgrading of monitoring equipment were discussed. The issue of purchasing the necessary equipment to increase the efficiency of forest monitoring was also on the agenda items of the working discussion.
 Deputy Directors Gagik Surenyan, Gayane Shahnazaryan, Arman Avagyan, Armen Dpiryan and other responsible officials of “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center” SNCO participated  in the working consultation.

Note, that by the decision of the Government, as a result of the merger of “Environmental Monitoring and Information Center”, “Forest Monitoring Center” and “Hydrometeorology and Atmospheric Impact Services” SNCOs , a new “Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center”SNCO was established,  which is now under the subordination of the Ministry of Environment.
