The Minister of Nature Protection participated in UNESCO International Water Conference

Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan participated in UNESCO International Water Conference in Paris, on May 13-14, that is aimed at advancing water security of countries by leveraging inter-sectorial management of water resources.
More than 124 UNESCO member states, ministers from 37 countries, as well as representatives of business, donor organizations and major scientific community institutions attended the conference. During thematic sessions water governance and sustainable development challenges at the national and international levels through increased cooperation between countries were discussed.
On the margins of the conference, Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan met with UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences Shamila Nair-Bedouelle and discussed the process of setting up biosphere reserves and geoparks in Armenia.
Also, the Minister of Nature Protection had bilateral meetings with South Korean Minister of Environment Cho Myung-Rae and Minister of Environment and Energy Transition of the Portuguese Republic Joao Pedro Matos Fernandes, during which the course of actions and envisaged projects in the frames of the cooperation between countries were considered.
