The status and the prospects for cooperation addressed to enhanced water resource management were discussed with KfW Bank officers


 Today, Minister of Nature Protection Erik Grigoryan received Regional Director of Community Infrastructure Programme of the German Development Bank (KfW) Marion Konishi, who arrived in Armenia on a working visit, newly appointed Project Manager of "Integrated Water Resource Management/Akurian River" Robert Roth and (KfW) Armenian Representative Zara Chatinyan.
     The Minister welcomed the guests in Armenia, referred to  the cooperation with KfW in environmental protection sphere, pointing to the need for expanding and deepening it.
Thankful for the reception, Marion Konishi presented the status of Kaps reservoir construction project funded by KfW. The guest reflected upon the project’s environmental and social impact assessment process.
   Minister Erik Grigoryan prioritized the implementation of complex measures directed  to efficacious water resources management in Armenia, which is conditioned by global climate change and growth in agriculture sector, thus in this regard, pinpointed the importance of accomplishing large-scale projects with the German side.

At the guests' request, the Minister of Nature Protection next submitted the current state of the water sector and the guiding directions of the policy targeted at tackling existing bottlenecks.
   At the end of the meeting, the sides once again reaffirmed their commitment to collective productive work and their willingness to deepen cooperation.
