577 fishing nets, cylinder traps and 3 swimming means were destroyed

On August 3 the working group set up by the order of RA Minister of Nature Protection registered and destroyed fishing appliances and swimming means detected in lakeside areas by “Sevan NP” employees since June 2016 up until now. The working group destroyed 577 fishing nets, 45 cylinder traps and 3 means of swimming. During that period the workers of “Sevan” national park confiscated whitefishes /2850/, which was handed to orphanages, houses for elderly people and boarding houses.
The RA Ministry of Nature Protection is watchful so that the works related to illegal fishing prevention will be in progress.

Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body was defined as a subordinate body to the Government by the RA law on “State administration system bodies” adopted on March 23, 2018, thus citizens may send their calls and applications to the Head of the Inspection Body (Address: Koryun 1, 3750009 Yerevan, tel.
