Minister of Nature Protection familiarized with everyday life of regional ecological-patriotic camp


In the frames of his working visit to RA Tavush Region Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan has also visited “Zikatar” Environmental Center, got familiarized with the works of the center and hosted the regional ecological-patriotic camp supported by the Ministry of Nature Protection, where the participants of 4th annual open reviews of Eco Tour 2014 organized by “Mkhitar Sebastatsi educomplex” from Artsakh, Georgia, Yerevan and other regions of Armenia are spending their active holidays.

The campers welcomed the Minister with bread and salt. Minister Aramayis Grigoryan participated in the general trainings of the campers, after which a round table discussion was held on a number of environmental issues. The Minister thought acceptable the concerns of young ecologists on environmental issues and thanked for their anxiety towards their solution: “I am glad, that here in one place are gathered the school children from Georgia, Artsakh and different regions of Armenia. I attach great importance to your attention towards nature conservation”.

The 4-year history of the eco tour and reached achievements, the ecological projects of educomplex were also presented at the round table. They also discussed the programme of Eco Tour 2015, on Sevan basin, particularly the issues connected with the rivers flowing into the lake, domestic waste and their cleaning works by the initiative of Eco Tour. Minister Aramayis Grigoryan mentioned that it was an impressive programme and added that they also considered the Sevan problem one of the target objectives and the ministry would support the eco tour participants to realize their project.

At the end of his visit the Minister of Nature Protection handed all campers t-shirts designed with the symbol of environmental programs. In their turn the school children gave their hand-painted canvas to the Minister of Nature Protection.

By the support of “Zikatar” Environmental Center operating under the Ministry of Nature Protection the campaigns are organized to the forest areas and historical monuments of specially protected areas. During the campaigns the ecologists are conducted trainings on the environmental themes with the pupils, giving useful knowledge about the current state of our nature, its maintenance and reproduction. The organizers are also conducted open classes, hiking, and cognitive trips in the camp.
