Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan Received Rick Howes, Chief Executive Officer and Hratch Jabrayan, General Manager of “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC. The guests congratulated Aramayis Grigoryan on his appointment and expressed hope that from now on the cooperation between the company and the Ministry will be more closely. Hratch Jabrayan briefly introduced the activities of the company both in Armenia and abroad and noted that “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC is ready to become an example for the other mining companies hoping that newly appointed Minister will accept the offer of a new partnership.
Aramayis Grigoryan thanked for the congratulation and stressed that the Ministry of Nature Protection is responsible and ready to cooperate both with “Dundee Precious Metals Kapan” CJSC and other companies, simultaneously emphasizing, that the company has a clear environmental and social responsibilities towards Syunik Region and its inhabitants and only after the performance of that duties he sees the close and effective cooperation with the company. “These losses that have been brought to the nature during mining activates should be brought to the minimum and compensated, implementing prudent recultivation and being vigilant towards the tailings”, said the Minister.
In his turn Hratch Jabrayan noted that the company is guided by the high principle of social and environmental responsibility.
The parties agreed to begin examination for reforestation program.
