The opening of “Picturesque Avenue” exhibition took place in State Museum of Nature of Armenia. The pupils of National Centre of Aesthetics after H. Igityan presented the exhibition. In the frames of “Picturesque Avenue” exhibition, they illustrated various works that attract everyone for their brightness and sincerity specific to children.

The session on interdepartmental panel implementing Stockholm Convention took place

The session on interdepartmental panel implementing Stockholm Convention on “Persistent Organic Pollutants” was held at the ministry, chaired by Artsvik Minasyan, the RA Minister of Nature Protection, Chairman of the Panel. 

Armenia ratified the Minamata Convention on Mercury

The Minamata Convention on Mercury signed on October 10, 2013, was ratified by the RA law (19.10.2017 HO-130-N). 
On December 13, the documents related to the Minamata Convention was deposited with the UN Secretary-General acting as the Depositary. The Republic of Armenia is the 85th state that has ratified the Minamata Convention. The Convention will enter into force for the Republic of Armenia since March 13, 2018.

Armenia’s National Ozone Unit organized 2017 wrap-up meeting 

On December 22-23, 2017, the wrap-up meeting of 2017 year and the stakeholder meeting were held in Tsaghkadzor within the framework of HCFC Phase-out project (Stage II), organized by the National Ozone Unit under the Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic of Armenia. 

As a result of 2017 accomplished and ongoing reform measures, the ministry will fully implement integrated environmental policy

On October 12-15, 2017, Scientific Forum on “Ecology, Health and Education in the XXI century. Global integration of modern research and technology” was held by Chechen State University of the Russian Federation.

Government focuses on efficient use of underground water resources in Ararat Valley

A consultation was held in the Office of Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan to consider the findings of a recent probe into the fish breeding entrepreneurship’s compliance with the water resource management regulations in Ararat Valley and the activities directed to groundwater restoration.

Fishing and crayfishing were banned at Lake Sevan within December 20, 2017, and January 15, 2018
