The Ministry of Nature Protection, jointly with UNDP in Armenia and the Public Administration Academy of Armenia, organized the launch of environmental trainings for community and civil servants within "Generate Global Environmental Benefits through Environmental Education and Raising Awareness of Stakeholders" project scopes. The first phase of the project envisages environmental trainings for around 350 employees of Yerevan Municipality.

On May 11, on the initiative of the Ministry of Nature Protection, there were organized events dedicated to World Migratory Bird Day in the vicinity of Gull Island of “Sevan” national park, during which the area was cleared of garbage, and separation of plastic was supervised. Get Out of the Red Book
The third annual exhibition titled "Get Out of the Red Book" was organized in Yerevan Zoo on the initiative of "Naturalists" group of Ayntap Secondary School N2 after Byuzand Margaryan of Ararat region. The pupils made red-listed species from wastes, and displaying them during the exhibition, voiced their problems.

Detected cases of norm violations on cutting trees
During the weekend, there were detected 25 illegally cut pine trees in Artanish and Drakhtik districts of Artanish branch of “Sevan”NP SNCO of the Ministry of Nature Protection.
Also, the cases on deforestation were revealed in Gugark Forestry Enterprise branch of “Hayantar” SNCO of Committee of Forest
The next USD 2.5 million environmental grant was allocated to Armenia
On March 12-15, 2019, the meeting of the UN Adaptation Fund (AF) took place, in the course of which, "Enhancing of Adaptive Capacity of Communities and Ecosystems Adjacent to Specially Protected Areas of Nature of Armenia" grant project costing USD 2.5 million, submitted by "Environmental Project Implementation Unit" SI of the Ministry of Nature Protection, was considered and approved.
There were considered the status of climate change mitigation and adaptation measures during the Interdepartmental Coordination Council
Chaired by First Deputy Minister of Nature Protection Irina Ghaplanyan, the session on interdepartmental coordination council implementing the demands and thesis of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took place in the Ministry of Nature Protection.
Clean-up activities and tree planting were effected in the capital and in all regions
On March 23, the Ministry of Nature Protection and the staff of Ministry’s SNCOs participated in the nationwide clean-up day in Yerevan and all regions of Armenia.
In parallel to doing cleaning activities, the employees of SNCOs under the Ministry accomplished tree planting in forest and specially protected areas of nature, as well as in their adjacent areas.
